10:49 p.m.-2003-10-17 Went and saw the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacar tonight. Very good, actually, and a nice reprieve from the CRAPPY horror movies I've been tormented with of late. Beautiful (relatively speaking) visuals, a good amount of gore, it starts with a bang (literally) and has very few lulls...a few annoying bits, but the most annoyance I could find was really the overuse of music. Part of the charm and scare of the original B movie was the LACK of music punctuated by the shrillness of screams and the rev of a chainsaw. The acting wasn't bad, there wasn't too much nudity, there was some writhe-inducing gore, soem visuals that would give a strong man a queasy stomach...and a nice, steady play out of the tension. Definately a good flick. I'm not saying it's as good as the original, but it's definately good. Better than Cabin Fever, or Jeepers Creepers 2, and god, tons better than House of the Dead! *Rrrrrrr--re-re-Revvvv!* The Captain
