In keeping with my 'getting in shape' for NaNoWriMo, I've been doing 5 to 15 minute creative 'sprints'...some are more successful than others. On the advice of a former NaNoWriMo'er, I switched from writing about my day to something more 'creative', this being part of the backbone of the fantasy world I'll be working in. I think. Anyhow, it's worthless, drivelly crap and not very coherent, just the backbones of a legend for the world, and since I limited myself to 10 minutes in this 'sprint', it's not actually complete either...but it's work...and that's what I need right now. My creative writing muscles are flaccid.

Without further ado...my creative writing brain fart:

In the beginning there was only LIGHT.

LIGHT was lonely, so created primordial matter, sand and wind.

Knowing that nothing made of a mixture of sand and wind could survive his brilliance, because all mortal things become sand and wind after death, the LIGHT raised his wings to create Shade.

LIGHT then created Light, to alleviate the darkness of Shade, and Light created Shadows of his own.

Light was lonely, and called upon LIGHT to provide him with companionship, weeping.

LIGHT pointed out the tears upon the sand, and Light was inspired.

Light took up the wet sand, and breathed wind into it, and thus created his Daughter.

And long his Daughter pleased him, dancing and singing on the sand.

And the Shadow spoke to Light, whispering of her beauty, and of their loneliness, and a thought came into his mind that should not have been.

Aroused, he turned his gaze upon his Daughter, and she rebuffed him, rebuking the shadow she saw in his mind.

He cried out in frustration and fury to the LIGHT, but the Shadows answered.

The Shadows answered, reaching out their arms to Light, and calling him to them.

Enamored, Light embraced Shadow, and coupled with his own Shadow.

When Light awoke, and rose from the sand, Shadow pointed out the hollow in the sand.

Some of the sand had been pulverized to dust, and some had been compressed into stone, and amid the hollow was moisture.

Taking up the dust and moisture, the Light created a woman.

Taking up the dust and moisture, the Light created a she-minotaur.

The Light declared these women his wives, the mothers of his Daughter, and commanded her to serve them in all ways.

The LIGHT returned his attention to his son and his sons Daughter, and was surprised to find the Shadows.

He was surprised to find the women, and with his insight, saw that children would come to end the loneliness.

The LIGHT lifted his hands, and raised from the sands the great city of Maat, and opened the gates for his children to enter.

Light was well pleased, and entered in with his wives, and his Shadows, and his Daughter.

And as the LIGHT had forseen, there were many children born. And of those children, many children, and of those children, many children.

The Light grew splendid, dwelling among his children, taking wives, and concubines, and comfort boys of the best of them, but his Daughter was required to live along, in a single room, for the Light was jealous of her still, and swore that if she would not have him, that none should have her, and he allowed none but himself to see her.

So the Child of Light called out to LIGHT himself, begging for mercy, and an end to her lonliness.

And LIGHT heard her prayer, and promised her a great comfort, and came to her, and entered her heart, and from there, entered her womb, humbling himself to become the child of the Child of Light.

And there was no hiding the Daughters pregnancy from the Light, and he became wroth, and he wronged her and still she forgave him.

And he locked her in the earth, away from Light and the pleasures of the city, and still she forgave him.

And he threatened her, and slaughtered all the males of his household, one by one, for not revealing the name of the man that lay with his holy Daughter, and still she forgave him.

And the day came, when she was delivered of her infant, and the Light was enraged, and took the babe from her.

And then he did a thing unspeakable.

The cord still uncut, he took a great knife, and he chopped the infant in twain. And then in quarters, and the infants head he severed also.

The right leg he threw to the west, and there was a great wind, and an eighth of all that lived were scattered on the wind and never seen again.

The right arm he threw to the south, and there was a great fire, and an eigth of all that lived were burned and were consumed by flame and were not seen again.

The left arm he threw to the east, and there was a great flood, and an eighth of all that lived were drowned, and were swept away and were not seen again.

The left leg he threw to the north, and there was a great quaking, and an eighth of all that lived were swallowed up, and became trapped with in the earth and were not seen again.

The head he threw into the center of the city, and there was a great silence, and a great wailing, and an eighth of all that lived were smote dead and there they lay, their bodies cold and stiff in the streets of the city.

That would be 817 words of pure pull it out of my ass creative writing, in 10 minutes.
