Well, I got my wish. It's not so hot in Seattle. Danged cold when I got up this morning. But at least it felt good on my ten block hike to work from the bus stop.

The cooler weather seemed to cool tempers too, though I did have an unusual number of folks who thought that their insurance should cover things like over the counter Aspirin. It never ceases to amaze me. The very folks who will sit out in the lobby and rant and rave about how a hidden Communist conspiracy with the Clinton White House was what ruined America and caused September 11.

And then they bitch and moan that medical care and drugs are too expensive, and that everything should be paid for by the Government. Um. Folks, reality check time: free universal government sponsored health care is really only a reality in so called 'socialist' countries.

So...you can't have your cake and eat it too. You can't be free, realized adult human beings and want the government to protect you from every possible bad thing, provide for your every whim and need. It's like the folks who want childrens playgrounds to be so inifinately safe that no child in any way, shape, fashion, or form can get hurt. We're raising a generation of wusses. When I was a kid, kids got hurt. We fell off monkeybars. We tumbled down slides. We jumped out of swings...we learned to be ALIVE. I worry for the little ones out there now. It's okay to bully other children, but god forbid that their environment might accidentally deal a blow to them!

Anyhow, what a rant. One day, I swear I will have something intelligent and entertaining to say that doesn't involve me griping. Really, my life isn't that bad!
