I had one of those poignant, break your heart rants over the state of the US and the bloody founding fathers...and diaryland hiccuped and ate the damn thing. All I can say is, read that you fat conservative bastards, and weep. Of course, you won't. If Thomas Jefferson was alive today, you'd call him unAmerican and see if you could bring him up under something on the Patriot Act. Ironically, the founding fathers would be terrorists today. Go figure. If 'live and let live' was good enough for old Thomas (and I'm not claiming the man was a saint, by any means...certainly his living white relatives don't seem to be), why isn't it good enough for the Strom Thurmonds of the world? Oh. Right. Do as I say, not as I do. So many laws, rules, regulations...the founding fathers would not recognize the monster they birthed. If they'd known what was going to happen, they'd've probably strangled it in the crib, rather than let it go running amok as it does now. You'd think that someday, the bloody populace would open their eyes, wake up and smell the coffee, and do something about it. We have children dying of poor healthcare in this country. We spend the money in Africa. We send wheat to Asian countries whose cultures don't know how to prepare it. We send our surplus rice to manufactures in the US, for who knows what shit. Millions of children go hungry every day. But we don't want to give out handouts to their parents...might you know, encourage someone to not work or something. People, we're fucked up. Our priorities are so fucked, they're gonna start spewing mutant clones of themselves. Oh wait. They already are. Pigheaded. That's what this country has become. Pig fucking headed. And just remember, Baby Boomers, who it is that will be choosing your nursing homes, eh? The poor, self deluded Gen-Xers that you've been screwing out of the chance for life, liberty, and happiness. Better make a law against us, just in case. Am I apologetic? No. Not at all. It's a free country, after all. I can say this if I want. At least I still can. Who know?
